Auditions for Little Women

Little Women, The Broadway Musical – audition Information

Dates – Audition on January 7 or 8, 7 PM . Callbacks to be held January 9 at 7 PM

Venue – Gates Hall, Pultneyville, New York

Format –

 Audition songs – short selections from these particular songs will be reviewed and used for specific role auditions

Speaking – sides (readings) will be provided at audition

Movement – short dance routine will be taught @ audition

Character list– all singing* roles, with some solos and strong part singing

Female

Jo March – 2ndoldest sister, main character, 17-19 years old  – mezzo

Amy March – youngest and most spoiled sister – 12 years to young adult – mezzo

Beth March – second youngest sister – gentle and giving – piano playing ability a plus –  14 years of age – mezzo

Meg March – oldest of the sisters – 18 years old to adult- mezzo

Marmee  March – the strong mother of the children – warm hearted and loved – alto

Aunt March – formidable, overbearing – Alto

Mrs. Kirk – Irish, Middle-aged housekeeper – *non-singing

 

Male

Professor Bhaer – German professor – mid 30’s – tenor/baritone

Mr. Laurence – stern gentleman – 70’s – baritone – piano playing ability a plus

Laurie Laurence – grandson of Mr. Laurence – 17 years of age – challenging tenor role

John Brooke – Laurie’s tutor, and suitor of Meg  – mid 20’s – baritone
