The Gatesinger Co. LTD is proud to announce this year’s YouTHeatre production!

To continue the celebration of the Pultneyville Civic Light Opera Company’s (PCLOC) 50th year, YouTHeatre will perform it’s first ever Gilbert and Sullivan production: The Pirates of Penzance or The Slave of Duty.
The story concerns Frederic, (Dillon May) who, having completed his 21st year, is released from his apprenticeship to the Pirate King (Matthew Combs) and his band of tender-hearted pirates. Frederic leaves the Pirate band with his nursemaid Ruth, (Alison Saiff, Rebecca Mealey) and arrives on the coast of Cornwall. He meets Mabel, (Katy Kolyer) the daughter of Major-General Stanley, (Adam Johnson) and the two young people fall instantly in love.

But this being Gilbert and Sullivan, of course that can’t last: Frederic discovers that, having been born on February 29th, he is not yet 21 and he must serve as a pirate for another 63 years before he is truly free of his duty!

Rounding out the Supporting Roles in this production are David Perry, (Samuel) Ben DeVries, (Police Sergent) Allison Mullin, (Kate) Kaila Kise, (Edith) and Danielle Cranmer (Isabel).

The Chorus Roles of Daughters, Pirates and Police are: Forrest Kelley, Joshua O’Dell, Marshall Kelley, Dominic Vassallo, Jared May, Joe Montondo, Sarah Walton, Ashley DeNardo, Nadia Thompson, Samantha Zimmerman, and Zarha Dillon-Zuppelli.

Robert D. Gorski returns to Direct once more, with the help of Karen Nail as his Assistant Director. Sara Blankenberg (Choreographer), Douglas Blackall (Conductor, Accompanist), Adrian VanderByl (Lighting Design), Dean Johnson (Producer), Julia Harland (Stage Manager) all return as members of this veteran Production crew. Music Direction for this Production was handled by many experienced teachers: Charles Palella, Jayde Gray (Chorus Direction), Karen Karnisky (Mabel), Holly Corcoran (Soloist Direction). Costumes are handled by Anne VanderByl, with help from Rebbeca Fisher.
